It’s already somewhat common knowledge at this point, but today will be my last day with WebLion. We’ve had a long, good run together, but it’s time for me to move on to something new. I can’t begin to imagine where I’d be without the experiences and opportunities I’ve had here. I’ll miss you guys.
My new gig will be as the lead developer for a startup called AMP Sports. Expect to hear more about this soon, but for now it means I can eke out a few more years as a developer before submitting to an inevitable manager role, less stress for myself and my family, and more time for Plone.
And as for Plone, I fully intend to continue with my work as Plone’s release manager – in fact, that was a stipulation of my new contract. Over the past six months, I’ve not been performing at a level I’d consider at all worthy of the role. Now with a refreshed and renewed focus, I fully intend to rectify that. Plone 4.2 is on its way, 4.3 will be close on its heels, and it’s now time to start talking excitedly about Plone 5.
Here goes nothing.
Eric
