WebLion: Matt Hamilton, Vice President of Plone Foundation, to Deliver Keynote at Plone Symposium East

Matt HamiltonMatt Hamilton, Director of Netsight and Vice President of the Plone Foundation, will be one of two keynote speakers at Plone Symposium East 2011 in May.

The title of Hamilton's talk will be provided at a later date.

Netsight is a web development firm in the United Kingdom specializing in Plone deployment, customization, and integration. Along with serving as Director of the firm, Hamilton is responsible for technical consulting and training.  He also has served as technical consultant for various large commercial intranet projects. His areas of expertise are integration, authentication, and performance optimization.

Hamilton has been active in the Zope community since 2000 and in the Plone community since 2003. He served on the Plone Foundation Board in 2004, 2009, and 2010 before becoming Vice President of the Board in 2011. He has been involved in various aspects of Plone's technology, as a developer, bug fixer, and integrator. He also has actively marketed Plone and has introduced it to many organizations that traditionally have not considered Open Source an option.

Hamilton served as Program Committee Chair for the 2010 Plone Conference in Bristol and was responsible for organizing the presentations and Open Spaces Day for the 2009 Plone Conference. He has presented at nearly all of the Plone conferences since their beginning.

He also has participated in many Zope and Plone sprints, including most of the Snow Sprints and the Plone Balloon Sprint in Bristol.  He organized one of the first Zope 3 Sprints outside the United States in 2003, the second Plone Performance Sprint in Bristol, and a World Plone Day event in Bristol in 2008.
