The Plone Symposium Midwest planning team has been busy putting together this year's event, which will be Plone's only North American (non-sprint) event for 2014.
Here is what we've been up to:
- Your talk proposals are needed! Please use the talks form by April 1. We are looking for topics covering content creation, deployment, development, sector/industry-specific applications, theming, and more!
- You can register now to lock in your early bird discount (ends April 1)
- We have some great training classes lined up:
- Fundamentals of Python, by Chris Calloway (June 13-17)
- Plone 4 Theming, by Chrissy Wainwright (June 16-17)
- Strategic Thinking & Practices Workshop, by Dr. Curtis Odom (June 17)
- We still have training space available, so if you've been thinking about teaching a class, now's the time to act! We have great classrooms available with the latest amenities.
- We will have two accomplished, insightful keynote speakers:
- "Why I am not an open source developer"– Brian Silverman (opening keynote, June 18)
- "The Sociology of Open-Source Community"– Steve McMahon (closing keynote, June 19)
- We will again be hosting three days of sprints, so add your topics or come join in.
- If you'd like to support the Symposium financially, your sponsorship will help us keep registration costs low, defray expenses for sprinters, and raise your and your organization's profile in the Plone community via your name / logo on the Symposium web site and in our printed materials
The Symposium will take place in sunny (and warm!) Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where the ice cap is currently melting:
- June 13-17: training classes
- June 18 & 19: main talk days, Birds of a Feather
- June 20-22: sprints
We are excited to host the Symposium again and hope to see you here!
